Madras Press series 3
We're busy putting together our third series of titles, for release in February. Four books again, probably all small and square. I would show you the covers if I knew how to.
There's some great work in this series, including new stories of Oz by Gregory Maguire, a choose-your-own-adventure story by Kevin Brockmeier, a novella by Hannah Abrams, and an illustrated edition of Kelly Link's 'Stone Animals.'
To celebrate, we'll have events in Boston, New York, and Wilmington NC this spring. Stay tuned for details.
Old books, new books
We're possibly sad to announce that we have sold out of The Tiny Wife by Andrew Kaufman. We happen to think it's a very great and charming story, so it's no surprise. But unfortunate nonetheless. Many thanks to Pocket Shop, who have done more than their share to help out. There may still be copies for sale at their outlets in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Uppsala, Berlin, and Helsinki.
Paris, New York, Newton
Thanks again to everyone who came out to the wonderful reading at Type Books in Toronto. Everyone involved deserves the word 'especially' before his or her name -- Andrew Kaufman, Derek McCormak, Becky Toyne, and all the amazing readers.
We're planning another reading event, this time in New York. It's going to be at Housing Works Bookstore & Cafe, one of the retail outlets that support Housing Works' initiatives to end AIDS and homelessness.

Madras Press Series 2
Our new series of titles is now available for pre-order, for delivery on or around 12/15 -- hopefully just in time for the holidays, depending on which holiday. This series includes work by:
Ben Marcus, author of The Age of Wire and String, The Father Costume, and Notable American Women. His Madras Press title, The Moors, will benefit Friend Memorial Library in Brooklin, ME.
Writers' Block
Trinie Dalton recently visited the KQED studios to record a reading from Sweet Tomb, and you can listen to it here. It involves some heartfelt gardening and a hallucinated Pinnochio.
Ooga Booga, Symphony Space
Those of you attending tomorrow's event with Ira Glass at Symphony Space will be lucky enough to hear, among other great acts, Rita Wolf read Aimee Bender's lovely story 'Fruit and Words.' You'll also be able to pick up a copy of The Third Elevator, as well as her other books.
Thirty Days NY
Through May 8, you can find our titles at Thirty Days NY, a live gallery space in New York City featuring weekly performances, symposiums, and showcases from contemporary artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers from all over the world. The gallery is located at 70 Franklin Street.
